RJ is a singer, actor, voice-over artist, motion capture performer, composer, producer and arranger. From Disney superstar to international orchestral soloist, RJ Woessner is a vocal artist who defies categories. Hailing from Indiana, he is best known as the tenor of Disney's DCappella, a world-renowned a cappella group and recording artist signed to Walt Disney Records that has amassed over 37 million combined video views and 155 million combined audio streams.
 
DCappella TV appearances include “American Idol”, Disney+ programs like “Best in Snow”, “Pentatonix: Around the World”, and “Disney Insider”, as well as Christmas holiday ABC specials. On stage, the group completed a 40-city tour through North America and parts of Canada, along with two sold-out tours of Japan in 2019 and 2022. Other notable theater performances include Disney's “Beauty and the Beast: Live in Concert” at the Hollywood Bowl as well as features at Carnegie Hall. Over a cumulative five years, the band released 96 songs spanning two albums (with two Japanese Editions), three holiday EPs and four songs on Michael Giacchino’s Incredibles 2 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
 
RJ has consistently worked as a Guest Artist with orchestras including the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Evergreen Symphony, Shanghai Philharmonic, and Wuhan Philharmonic. Most recently, RJ collaborated with world-renowned pianist Lang Lang along with his wife, Gina Alice, on Lang Lang's "Disney Songbook" tour in Taipei.

 

Compositionally, RJ has written a cappella choral arrangements and film scores. His original film score for "4 Loves" was featured at the 2013 Big Apple Film Festival in New York City.  As an arranger, he was a 2018 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award Nominee (CARA). In 2020, he arranged and produced DCappella’s “Just Around The Riverbend/Colors of the Wind” for Disney, available now on all streaming platforms. His work has been heard at the World Choir Games in Latvia and the Llangollen Musical Eistedfodd in Wales.

Furthermore, his eclectic performance abilities include several years as a motion capture performer at a New York animation company doing pre-visual animatic performances as hundreds of characters for commercials as well as VR military training.

 

An accomplished voice-over artist and singer, RJ has recorded for clients around the world for the past decade. He does session singing, voice-over, and automated dialogue replacement for television & feature films as well as commercials, promos, narrations and instructional videos. As a background vocalist, he has sung on television for Josh Groban, Bastille, and Jim Carrey – to name a few.

RJ made his songwriter debut with his first original single, "Synchronized", this February. His first two songs were in part recorded at Universal Music Japan in Tokyo while on tour with Disney's DCappella. He is also a voting member of the GRAMMYS (Recording Academy).

 

RJ resides between Los Angeles, California and Valencia, Spain.
